Sharpe rise in capesize rate lifts Baltic Main sea freight index to above 600 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities advanced significently on Wednesday mainly on a sharp rise in capesize rate.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities advanced significently on Wednesday mainly on a sharp rise in capesize rate.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, up by another 45 points to 634 points on Wednesday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
