Medium and High-Grade NPI Inventories Drop in China, with Prices Unchanged

Inventories of medium and high-grade NPI continue to drop in China, Shanghai Metals Market survey finds.

SHANGHAI, May 14 (SMM) – Inventories of medium and high-grade NPI continue to drop in China, Shanghai Metals Market survey finds. 

The price of medium and high-grade NPI products was little changed May 14 at 990-1,010 yuan per mtu for 10-15% NPI, and 995-1,015 yuan per mtu for 4-6% NPI, according to SMM data. 

The change in utilization rate at domestic medium and high-grade NPI producers should be closely watched, SMM says. 

In low-grade NPI market, prices were between 2,300-2,330 yuan per tonne, with no positive signs in the short term.
