SHANGHAI, May 14 (SMM) –LME tin opened at USD 15,900/mt on Wednesday. The metal touched day’s high of USD 16,000/mt and day’s low of USD 15,700/mt before closing down USD 100/mt at USD 15,800/mt. Trading volumes were up 99 lots to 182 lots, and positions were up 32 to 19,352. Inventories were unchanged at 8,590 mt. A softer US dollar and negative technical side will keep LME tin in check between USD 15,600-16,000/mt on Thursday.
SHFE 1507 tin contract found solid support at RMB 120,250/mt during Wednesday’s night session. Trading volumes totaled 21,432 lots, and positions were up 628 to 7,784. The contract is expected to hover around RMB 120,000/mt on Thursday.
In domestic spot market, trading will remain thin, and mainstream traded prices are expected between RMB 118,500-121,500/mt.
