Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange drops for the fifth consecutive day

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities dropped further for the fifth consecutive day on Thursday on lower rates for capesizes and panamax vessels.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities dropped further for the fifth consecutive day on Thursday on lower rates for capesizes and panamax vessels.
 
The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by another 5 points to 575 points on Thursday.
 
The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
