Turkish HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap import prices (CFR Iskenderun Port, Turkey) advanced further by $4 a ton week-on-week t0 $275 a ton during last week, as per the Steel Index.

ANKARA (Scrap Register): Turkish HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap import prices (CFR Iskenderun Port, Turkey) advanced further by $4 a ton week-on-week t0 $275 a ton during last week, as per the Steel Index. 
 
Another week of relatively strong buying from Turkish mills saw prices edge higher, with a number of trades completed at $275 a ton and the highest trade heard completed at $277 a ton. 
 
For Live US Scrap Prices Log on to Scrap Register
 
Looking ahead to June deliveries, participants feel Ramadan will likely weaken the market, whilst some mills were once again heard to be buying Chinese billet as an alternative to melting scrap.

Japan's Imports Rise 10.2% YoY in Feb, Exports to US and China Decline
According to data released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance, Japan’s import value rose 10.2% YoY in February this year, while total export value increased 4.2%. By country, Japan’s exports to the US fell 8% YoY, marking the third consecutive month of decline, with auto exports in particular down 14.8%. Meanwhile, Japan’s export value to China decreased 10.9%, while its import value surged 35.4%.
