Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange continue to rise to 586 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to rose on Wednesday due to higher capesize rates.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to rose on Wednesday due to higher capesize rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, rose by another 5 points to 586 points on Tuesday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
