Market Update-8th April, 2015: Chinese Stainless steel scrap prices declined

The Chinese Stainless Steel scrap prices mostly declined on ScrapMonster Price Index as on Wednesday, April 8th.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese Stainless Steel scrap prices mostly declined on ScrapMonster Price Index as on Wednesday, April 8th.

201 SS prices declined by CNY 100 per MT to touch CNY 3,950 per MT.

304 SS Solid prices too were down by CNY 100 per MT.

The price of 304 SS Turning dropped by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

309 SS and 310 SS prices witnessed marginal decrease of CNY 150 per MT and CNY 250 per MT respectively.

316 SS Solid scrap prices edged lower by CNY 200 per MT over the day on April 8th.

Shred SS prices too were down by CNY 100 per MT to CNY 9,200 per MT.

Meantime, steel scrap prices held steady. The prices of #HMS scrap and Cast Iron scrap remained unchanged.

Shred Zinc scrap prices too remained flat at CNY 12,600 per MT.

Supported by ample earlier orders and full production schedules, the operating rate of the enamelled wire industry rose 4.06 percentage points WoW to 85.13% this week. According to enterprise feedback, new orders underperformed expectations this week. Affected by downstream wait-and-see sentiment amid falling prices, enterprises were relatively cautious in placing orders, and new orders increased by only 0.11 percentage points.
