China's Lead Product Imports Slump 44% in February

Customs data show that China’s imports of lead products declined 44% on the month in February to 1,658 mt.

SHANGHAI, Apr. 3 (SMM) – Customs data show that China’s imports of lead products declined 44% on the month in February to 1,658 mt, including 45 mt of refined lead, 1,604 mt of lead alloy (97% of the total), 4 mt of lead plate and 5 mt of other lead products.

China exported 4,571 mt of lead products in February, down 29% MoM. 3005 mt of this was refined lead and 1,340 mt was lead plate. Combined, these two accounted for 95% of the total. Exports of lead alloy were 108 mt. Exports of other lead products were 118 mt. 60%of China’s refined lead exports went to Vietnam.

Most exports of refined lead originated from Chenzhou’s processing zone and were recorded as the feeding processing trade. A few shipments of refined lead went to North Korea.
