SHANGHAI, Apr. 3 (SMM) – China’s Zhuzhou Smelter Group Co. created 39.8 million yuan ($6.5 million) of profit in 2014 fiscal year, a surge of 71.58% from 2013, with higher zinc and indium prices contributing the most.
Zhuzhou Smelter’s zinc output through electrolysis process increased to 385,400 tonnes in 2014, and refined indium production posted a 54.02% spike. Meanwhile, selling prices for the two products rose by 9.40% and 84.80%, respectively, contributing to a climb in its net profit.
The company’s lead product output increased 21.98%. Besides, improvement in recovery technology allowed the company’s production of gold and blister copper to grew 54.55% and 3.04%.
