SHANGHAI, Mar. 24 (SMM) – LME copper prices closed up USD 110/mt at USD 6,150/mt on Monday powered by lower US dollar index, rising gold and crude oil prices.
SHFE 1506 copper contract started at RMB 43,650/mt during Monday’s night session, and touched a high of RMB 44,020/mt before ending at RMB 43,890/mt, up RMB 590/mt. Positions in the June delivery copper increased 7,966, and trading volumes declined to 200,000 lots.
SHFE 1506 copper contract prices may move at RMB 43,500-44,200/mt on March 24. Spot copper may be quoted at discounts of RMB 150-220/mt to SHFE 1504 copper contract.
