The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to rise on Friday due to the strong demand for vessels across all segments.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities continued to rise on Friday due to the strong demand for vessels across all segments.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, up by another 7 points to 591 points on Friday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
