SHANGHAI, Mar. 20 (SMM) – LME tin opened at USD 16,850/mt on Thursday. The metal touched day’s high of USD 17,050/mt and day’s low of USD 16,850/mt before closing up USD 95/mt at USD 16,945/mt. Trading volumes decreased 153 lots to 237 lots, and positions up 217 to 20,479. Inventories were unchanged at 10,180 mt. The price rise was due to upward correction after sharp declines. LME tin should range USD 16,700-17,100/mt on Friday.
Tin prices in Shanghai continued to fall on Thursday, keeping buyers cautious. Demand will remain slack on Friday, with prices expected between RMB 119,500-123,500/mt.
