MUMBAI (Scrap Register): Indian containerized shredded scrap import prices advanced slightly last week, while plastic resin and plastic scrap traded up.
The improved buying levels seen since the beginning of March fell away as a general sense of disappointment over the limited budget reforms took its toll on market sentiment.
The small price increase is a result of cues taken from the slight rebound in the Turkish scrap market, alongside a feeling that the Indian imported scrap price has bottomed out for the time being.

A fall in price for both local scrap and foreign semi-finished material will not have come as welcome news for scrap market players, as both currently provide competitive alternative routes to steel making.
Plastic and plastic resin scrap prices advanced during last week on Scrap Register Price Index, while brass and nickel price turned negative. Aluminium, lead and zinc prices remained almost flat.
