EMM in China traded lower to RMB 11,600-11,700/mt in the week ending March 13.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 16 (SMM) – EMM in China traded lower to RMB 11,600-11,700/mt in the week ending March 13. Baosteel cut EMM bid prices, which had a knock-on effect on spot market. The decline in operating rates at EMM producers is not sharp. Traders have been inactive in buying goods since after the Chinese New Year holiday out of pessimism. Growing supply/demand imbalance sent prices down.

This week will see further decline in EMM prices, but cost support will limit the downside room.
