Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange remains flat at 565 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities remain unchanged on Tuesday as weaker capesize rates offset demand for smaller vessels.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities remain unchanged on Tuesday as weaker capesize rates offset demand for smaller vessels.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, remained unchanged at 568 points on Tuesday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
