DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsCar InsightSHANGHAI, Mar. 6 (SMM) – The reports of closures at NPI producers in Linyi, Shandong Province failed to boost China’s price of low-grade NPI during this past week, Shanghai Metals Market survey shows.
As of Friday (Mar. 6), ex-works prices of 1.6-1.7% NPI were 2,560-2,600 yuan per tonne (including taxes), with prices averaging at 2,580 yuan per tonne, a week-on-week drop of 20 yuan, according to SMM data.
The drop in price, due mainly to sufficient supply and sluggish nickel prices, is in line with SMM’s expectation, despite of NPI closures in Shandong.
