Russia's Hi-Carbon Ferro-Chrome exports plunged during 2014

According to latest government statistics, the Russian Hi-Carbon ferro-chrome alloy exports declined sharply during 2014.

MOSCOW (Scrap Monster): According to latest government statistics, the Russian Hi-Carbon ferro-chrome alloy exports declined sharply during 2014. The exports totaled 129,685 tons, down by 21.3% when compared with the exports of 164,741 tons during the year before. The export price averaged at $1,206.50 per mt during the year.

The top destination of Russia’s Hi-Carbon Ferro-Chrome exports was Korea. The exports to the country totaled 32,175 mt, rising sharply by 30.53% when compared with 24,650 mt during 2013. The other leading importers during the year were Netherlands (21,492 mt), Czech (18,443 mt) and India (11,744 mt). The exports to Japan and Italy declined during the year. The Japanese imports of Hi-Carbon Ferro-Chrome from Russia were drastically down by 44.3% over the previous year during 2014.

On the other hand, the exports of Low-Carbon Ferro-Chrome surged higher by 10.5% over the previous year to total 216,849 mt in 2014. The Russian exports of these products had totaled 196,216 tons during 2013. The exports to Japan, Holland and China increased significantly during the year, whereas exports to European region and South Korea declined sharply.

The top export destination of Russian Low-Carbon Ferro-Chrome was Netherlands. The exports totaled 75,928 mt at an average price of $2,271.85 per mt. The exports jumped 13.2% when compared with 67,079 mt during 2013. The other major export destinations were Japan (27,550 mt), Czech (22,599 mt) and Germany (16,713 mt). The exports to Japan surged higher by 77.7% when compared with the previous year.
