SHANGHAI, Mar. 3 (SMM) – Aluminum inventories across China’s five major markets soared 263,000 tonnes after the Chinese New Year holiday, as shipments continued to arrive while consumption stalled during the holiday, Shanghai Metals Market statistics showed.

Bankruptcy of some extruders and hopes of lower prices will hurt aluminum consumption, so aluminum inventories at the five regions are expected to continue rising for the foreseeable future, SMM foresees.
