Feb 4th, 2015: Scrap Gold and Silver prices drop, Platinum surges on Index

ALBANY (Scrap Monster): The daily scrap gold and silver prices - hallmarked and non- hallmarked declined Wednesday, 4th February on the ScrapMonster Price Index. The prices of Platinum scrap surged higher over the previous day.

In the Hallmarked category, the 14 carat gold scrap prices were down by $ 6.67 per Oz. The prices of 18 carat and 22 carat gold scrap inched lower by $ 8.55 and $ 10.44 per Oz respectively.9 carat gold scrap also went lower by $ 4.27 per Oz. The price of Platinum scrap increased by $ 3.64 per Oz. Silver scrap prices too closed slightly on the lower side at $14.31 per Oz, edging lower by $ 0.17 per Oz.

In the Non-Hallmarked category, the 14 carat gold scrap prices edged lower by $ 6.31 per Oz. The prices of 18 carat and 22 carat gold scrap were down $ 8.08 and $ 9.88 per Oz respectively. 9 carat gold scrap also was down $ 4.04 per Oz. Platinum scrap prices jumped higher by $ 3.64 per Oz. Meantime, Non-hallmarked silver scrap prices declined by $ 0.15 per Oz.
