SHFE Zinc Prices Finish with Gains (Feb. 4, 2015)

SHANGHAI, Feb. 4 (SMM) – SHFE 1504 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 16,370/mt Tuesday evening, then inched up to RMB 16,420/mt, and closed at RMB 16,410/mt, up RMB 165/mt or 1.02%. Trading volumes were up 35,880 to 84,518 lots, and total positions decreased 2,658 to 144,872.

SHFE 1504 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 16,410/mt on Wednesday. HSBC's January PMI for China dropped to a six-month low of 51.8, pulling down SHFE 1504 zinc contract prices to RMB 16,315/mt, and closing at RMB 16,330/mt, up RMB 85/mt or 0.52%. Trading volumes increased 39,934 to 173,136 lots, and total positions decreased 10,596 to 136,934. SHFE 1504 zinc contract prices are expected to fluctuate between the 40 and 60-day moving average this evening.
