SHANGHAI, Feb. 4 (SMM) – As part of its efforts to tackle chronic overcapacity, the government of Binzhou, Shandong Province, will no longer approve applications for new aluminum capacity, local media reported yesterday. 
 
Shandong, among China’s top three aluminum producing regions, is home to a huge number of aluminum smelters, such as Shandong Nanshan Aluminum Co. and Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group.
