Posco P&S' scrap purchasing price drops

According to reports, South Korean Posco P&S has purchased scrap from Japan at lower rate.

TOKYO (Scrap Monster): According to reports, South Korean Posco P&S has purchased scrap from Japan at lower rate. The company bought P&S scrap from Japan recently for ¥31,000/ton to ¥31,500/ton C&F. This is ¥500 lower when compared with the previous purchasing price. The company also purchased Shindachi scrap for prices of ¥32,000/ton to ¥32,200/ton FOB.

Meanwhile, the average price of Japanese H2 scrap declined further during the fourth week of January this year.

The average price of Japan H2 scrap in Kanto, Central and Kansai region was ¥ 24,337/ton during the fourth week of January. The prices edged lower by ¥ 197/ton from the previous week. The prices had averaged at ¥ 24,534/ton during the third week of January.

The average price of H2 scrap in Kanto region was ¥ 26,167/ton. The average price in Kanto region dropped by ¥ 166/ton when compared with the previous week.

The average H2 scrap price in Central region was ¥ 22,220/ton. The average prices in the region were down sharply by ¥ 300/ton when compared with the previous week.

The H2 scrap average prices dropped in Kansai regions. The average price of H2 scrap in Kansai region during the fourth week of January was ¥ 24,625/ton, declining by ¥ 125/ton when compared with the previous week.
