BEIJING (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Asia recorded marginal rise of 1.2% during the month of December year-on-year.
The total crude steel production by China during December 2014 was 68.090 Million tonnes (Mt), increasing slightly by 1.5% when compared with the production of 67.083 Mt during December 2013. India produced 7.071 Mt of crude steel, up 2.2% when compared to 6.922 Mt production achieved during December 2013.
Japan reported decline in monthly crude steel output during December. Japan's crude steel output dropped from 9.339 Mt in December 2013 to 8.999 Mt in same month, the previous year.
South Korean crude steel production dropped by 1.6% from 5.861 Mt in December 2013 to5.766 Mt in December 2014.
The Taiwanese December 2014 steel output jumped higher by17.9% to 2.170 Mt from 1.841 Million tonnes during same month in 2013.
The following table provides cumulative crude steel output for the entire year in 2014 in comparison with those during 2013.
