Minmetals Resources Lowers 2015 Zinc Concentrate Output Target on Mine Closure

Minmetals Resources expects its zinc concentrate output to reach 440,000-510,000 tonnes (Zn content) in 2015, 13% below 2014’s level.

SHANGHAI, Jan. 27 (SMM) – Minmetals Resources expects its zinc concentrate output to reach 440,000-510,000 tonnes (Zn content) in 2015, 13% below 2014’s level.

The decline in output is due mainly to the closure of Century mine during the third quarter of 2015, the company said, which will reduce output at the mine to 320,000-370,000 tonnes in zinc content.

The mine produced 465,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate (Zn content) in 2014.

Minmetals Resources’ major lead and zinc mines in operation include the Century mine, the Golden Grove mine and the Rosebery mine.
