SHANGHAI, Jan. 27 (SMM) – With the enforcement of the new Environmental Protection Law, Hebei has ramped up environmental protection inspections on local industrial enterprises, Shanghai Metals Market’s survey shows.

SMM survey finds Hebei represents about 40% in China’s total galvanized structural parts capacity.

A large number of illegal galvanizers in Hebei’s Xingtai have been shut down recently. Most local galvanizers are small ones, and only a few have effluent discharge permit and meet environmental protection requirements.

More small galvanizers will be closed in 2015 as China is accelerating environmental protection rectifications, SMM foresees.
