SHANGHAI, Jan. 5 (SMM) – China abolished its rare earth export quota regime in 2015, DZH News reported.
China’s Ministry of Commerce did not release any export quotas for rare earth, tungsten, and molybdenum in a notice specifying the first group of export quotas for nonferrous metals issued December 29, 2014.
In addition, rare earth was included in a catalog for goods subject to export license administration released by the Ministry of Commerce on December 31. This means companies will be able to export rare earth after securing export license for the product.
DZH News said industry insiders now expect more new policies targeting rare earth industry this year.
