CIS crude steel output slides further in Nov 2014

The crude steel production by Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) dropped by 3.9% during the month of November year-on-year.

MOSCOW (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association (World Steel), the crude steel production by Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) dropped by 3.9% during the month of November year-on-year.
 
The total crude steel production by Byelorussia surged higher by 47.1% during November this year to 224,000 tonnes from 152,000 tonnes in November 2013.  Kazakhstan produced 339,000 tonnes of crude steel, slightly higher by 1.5% when compared to 334,000 tonnes production achieved during November 2013. Moldova recorded 29,000 tonnes steel output during the month. The total crude steel production by Russia was up by 5.8% from 5.521 Million tonnes in November 2013 to 5.840 Million tonnes this November.
 
There was marked decline in Ukraine’s crude steel output in November. Ukraine’s total crude steel output declined sharply by 28.6% to 1.822 Million tonnes in November 2014 when compared with the output of 2.553 Million tonnes during November last year. Also, Uzbekistan’s crude steel output declined marginally by 0.8% during the month.
 
The following table provides cumulative crude steel output for the first eleven months in 2014 in comparison with those during same period in 2013.
