Average Operating Rate at China's Copper Plate/Sheet, Strip and Foil Makers Down to 63.92% in Nov.

The average operating rate at the surveyed copper plate/sheet, strip and foil producers was 63.92% in November, down 2.53 percentage points MoM and 0.5 percentage point YoY.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 25 (SMM) – The average operating rate at the surveyed copper plate/sheet, strip and foil producers was 63.92% in November, down 2.53 percentage points MoM and 0.5 percentage point YoY.

Copper processors remain stung by cash squeeze, despite of China’s interest rate cut and new RMB lending hitting record high of RMB 852.7 billion in November. Plate/sheet, strip and foil producers only accept orders from trustworthy end users to mitigate risks. With new capacity outpacing demand growth, market competition is heating up.

The average operating rate at copper plate/sheet, strip and foil producers is likely to edge down to 63.81% in December.
