SHFE 1502 zinc prices, the most actively-traded zinc contract, closed slightly up at 16,370 yuan per tonne on Dec. 23, the only one non-ferrous metal product ending higher on the day.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 23 (SMM) – SHFE 1502 zinc prices, the most actively-traded zinc contract, closed slightly up at 16,370 yuan per tonne on Dec. 23, the only one non-ferrous metal product ending higher on the day.

Will Shanghai zinc futures prices keep rising?

Zinc futures prices will lack the strong upward momentum, with prices between 16,300-16,450 yuan per tonne for the most active one, an analyst from Ruida Futures told SMM in a most recent interview.

“Trading is waning as the year-end is drawing near, and downstream buying activities will also refrain from tight liquidity,” the analyst said.
