The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels gained on Thursday due to improved rates for capesize vessels.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels gained on Thursday due to improved rates for capesize vessels.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, up by 26 points to 1,332points on Thursday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
