LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels advanved to 944 points on Friday mainly due to a pick-up in capesize activity, after falling for 12 consecutive sessions.
The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, up by 14 points or 1.51 percent to 944 points.
The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
