Tianjin Customs intercepted 44 tonnes of Xenotime recently due to radiation, local media reported.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 25 (SMM) – Tianjin Customs intercepted 44 tonnes of Xenotime recently due to radiation, local media reported. 

The shipment of cargos had left the port, it added, without mentioning where it was from or who it belongs to.   

Xenotime is the 3rd most important rare earth element ore, after monazite and bastnäsite. Of the 3 common REE ores, xenotime typically contains the highest ratios of heavy rare earth elements.
