Downward trend in Chinese Steel prices to continue in September

The downward trend in Chinese steel prices is expected to continue in September, according to a market report from CISA.

BEIJING (Scrap Register): The downward trend in Chinese steel prices is expected to continue in September, according to a market report from CISA.

According to The Steel Index, a slowing economy, problems in the real estate end-user markets and steel producers’ tight cash-flows are all likely to suppress steel prices.

With falling demand, problems with financing and plummeting iron ore prices, Chinese export HRC prices finished the month at a 4-year low level of $501 a ton.

SHANGHAI, Apr 7 (SMM) - According to data from the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), key steel enterprises produced 23.76 million mt of crude steel, 20.45 million mt of pig iron and 23.28 million mt of finished steel in the last 10 days of March.
