Asian crude steel production rose 1.7% in July this year

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Asia climbed higher by 1.7% during the month of July year-on-year.

The total crude steel production by China during July was 68.324 Million tonnes, higher by 1.5% in comparison with the July 2013 production of 67.297 Million tonnes. India produced 6.960 Million tonnes of crude steel, up 1.7% when compared to 6.845 Million tonnes production achieved during July 2013.

Japan reported marginal fall in monthly crude steel output during July. Japan's crude steel output fell slightly from 9.297 Million tonnes in July 2013 to 9.295 Million tonnes in the same month this year.

South Korean crude steel production was up considerably by 6.2% during July from 5.555 Million tonnes in July 2013 to 5.897 Million tonnes in July this year.

The Taiwanese July steel output too edged higher by 3.5% to 1.940 Million tonnes from 1.875 Million tonnes during same month last year.

The following table provides cumulative crude steel output for the first seven months in 2014 in comparison with those during same period in 2013.
