Secondary Lead Smelters in China’s Shandong Suspend Production on Environment Protection Inspections

Chinese secondary lead smelters in Shandong, Guangdong, and Jiangxi were closed for environmental protection inspections, Shanghai Metals Market learns.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 8 (SMM) – Chinese secondary lead smelters in Shandong, Guangdong, and Jiangxi were closed for environmental protection inspections, Shanghai Metals Market learns.

Earlier, secondary lead smelters in Hebei also suspended production due to stringent environmental protection efforts in the region.

Supply of secondary lead dropped markedly following production halts, but the price was barely budged due to the off-season period, SMM understands.
