SHANGHAI, Jun. 23 (SMM) – Average operating rate in China’s tin soldering industry in May inched down from April as the off-season arrived earlier than usual, Shanghai Metals Market learned.

Weak consumption and sluggish prices during the low demand season depressed production at the 40 tin soldering companies surveyed by SMM, mainly in Guangdong (60%), Jiangsu and Zhejiang (30%), and the rest in Hebei, Tianjin and Shandong (10%).

At present, the surveyed producers are now focusing on supplying regular customers and taking a tighter control over cash liquidity, while upgrading products, such as solder paste, the SMM survey showed.
