Sea Freight Index at Baltic Exchange Inches Up to above 900 Points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels inched up to above 900 points on Friday due a rise in capesize rates.

UNITED KINGDOM June 23 2014 3:24 PM LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels inched up to above 900 points on Friday due a rise in capesize rates.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, inched up by 2 points or 0.22 percent to 904 points.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
