Chinese Iron Ore imports hit 3.8 trillion tons during Jan-May: Customs Data

The China Customs revealed iron ore imports of 3.8 trillion tons in first five months, up by 19% or 60.59 million tons from a year earlier.

SHANGHAI (Scrap Register): The China Customs revealed iron ore imports of 3.8 trillion tons in first five months, up by 19% or 60.59 million tons from a year earlier. 

 The figure was 77.38 million tons in May alone, up by 12.9% or 8.82 million tons from a year ago but declining 6.01 million tons from a month earlier. 
 
Exports of steel products reached 8.07 million tons in May, up by 7% or 530,000 tons from a month ago and 49.2% from a year earlier.
 
The figure reached 33.94 million tons in the first five months, increase by 33.6% from a year ago.
