SHANGHAI, Apr. 29 (SMM) – Local government of Ganzhou city, Jiangxi province, clamped down 233 illegal rare earth mining sites, 104 of which in Anyuan County, in its three-month crackdown efforts since last June, local media reported. 

Ganzhou, which stores about 40% of the country's most valuable ion-type rare earth minerals, has spearheaded a countrywide drive against illegal exploration, helping to stabilize rare earth prices, the report said.
