MUMBAI (Scrap Register): India containerized scrap import prices declined by 0.5% week-on-week to $393 a ton in the week ended April 25th this year, as per the latest figures released by the The Steel Index (TSI).
In India, a diversity of transaction levels were reported last week, origin dependent, as buyers sought to put daylight between themselves and high price material.
Overall, price levels were slightly down from previous week. TSI’s index for Indian imports of containerized shredded scrap dropped by $2 a ton to $393 a ton, CFR Nhava Sheva.
The election may be shortly due, but buyers are not waiting on the result to take material.
