SHANGHAI, Apr. 10 (SMM) – The most active SHFE copper contract price fell immediately after starting at RMB 46,400/mt, dampen by LME copper prices sinking below the USD 6,600/mt mark, and then dropped to RMB 46,000/mt during Wednesday’s night session. The red metal regained some losses at the tail of the trading to finish down RMB 330/mt at RMB 46,300/mt. Traded volumes rose to some 210,000 lots, while positions soared by 10,180 lots. On Thursday, SHFE copper prices followed LME copper prices down to a low of RMB 46,130/mt during the afternoon trading hours, but recouped some losses subsequently to close down RMB 430/mt, or 0.92%, at RMB 46,200/mt. Traded volumes added 203,000 lots, and positions totaled 13,800 lots.
