SHANGHAI, Feb. 13 (SMM) – #0 zinc prices were between RMB 14,970-15,020/mt, with spot discounts between RMB 70-110/mt against SHFE 1404 zinc contract prices. #1 zinc prices were around RMB 14,920/mt. SHFE 1404 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 15,090/mt on Thursday, then fluctuated in a narrow range, up RMB 10-20/mt from the previous day. Traders and smelters moved goods actively, but downstream purchasing was still muted as they will not restart production until after February 14, keeping transactions quiet. Spot discounts expanded despite that SHFE zinc rpices edged up. Shuangyan branded #0 zinc prices were between RMB 15,010-15,020/mt, with RMB 14,990-15,000/mt for Yuguang branded #0 zinc, and RMB 14,970-14,980/mt for Jiulong, Qinxin and Feilong branded #0 zinc.
