SHANGHAI, Jan. 30 (SMM) – Refined copper in Shanghai’s spot markets was quoted at discount of RMB 0-200/mt over SHFE 1402 copper contract prices on Thursday. Traded prices were RMB 50,680-50,980/mt for standard-quality copper and RMB 50,780-51,050/mt for high-quality copper. The HSBC’s China manufacturing PMI for January was revised lower, causing SHFE copper prices to fall, but the SHFE current month copper contract prices showed some resistance to declines. Both sellers and buyers have exited market for the Chinese New Year holiday.
