SHANGHAI, Oct. 17 (SMM) – One died and two were trapped in a roof falling accident at a lead and zinc mine of Yunnan Chihong Zn & Ge Co.’s subsidiary company.

The subsidiary, Yunnan Lancang Lead Ore Co., stopped operations on October 16 when the accident happened, the parent told Shanghai Stock Exchange today.

Rescue work is ongoing for the two trapped in mine and cause of the accident is being investigated, Yunnan Chihong said in a statement.

Yunnan Lancang mined 149,000 tonnes of lead and zinc ores in the first nine months, 9,500 tonnes in metal content, accounting for only a small proportion of Yunnan Chihong’s total output, it added.
