Spot tin prices in China increased to RMB 151,000-154,000/mt last Tuesday boosted by climbing LME tin prices.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 14 (SMM) – Spot tin prices in China increased to RMB 151,000-154,000/mt last Tuesday boosted by climbing LME tin prices, but trading was light. Although spot tin prices had not impetus to rise further as LME tin met resistance last Wednesday and demand in spot markets remained feeble, low selling interest among tin smelters left sparse resources quoted as low as RMB 151,000/mt, with mainstream traded prices holding up high at RMB 151,500-154,000/mt. Last Thursday, however, with supply of low-priced goods growing in the market, some producers of branded tin began cutting quotes, leaving traded prices between RMB 150,700-153,500/mt on Friday. Transactions showed no improvements.
