South China aluminum: Inventories Grow, but Traded Volumes Fall

Nanhai saw aluminum stocks surge by almost 40,000 mt after the holiday, exacerbating oversupply pressure.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 8 (SMM) – Nanhai saw aluminum stocks surge by almost 40,000 mt after the holiday, exacerbating oversupply pressure. Downstream producers did not build up stocks in appreciable amounts, so aluminum prices in the region rose a mere RMB 15/mt from before holiday to RMB 14,440-14,460/mt on Tuesday.
