SMM Rare Earth Weekly Survey: Prices for Several Products Down on Anemic Demand (2-6 Sept. 2013)

Prices for rare earth products held steady last week, with several products exhibiting marginal declines due to languishing demand.
SHANGHAI, Sept. 10 (SMM) – Prices for rare earth products held steady last week, with several products exhibiting marginal declines due to languishing demand. Many producers ceased production and refrained from selling goods, leaving trading muted. SMM holds that overall rare earth market should remain stable this week, but some products may continue to edge lower. 
 
Last week, prices were RMB 28,000/mt for lanthanum oxide, RMB 28,500/mt for cerium oxide, RMB 570,000/mt for praseodymium oxide, RMB 363,000/mt for neodymium oxide, RMB 359,000/mt for didymium oxide, RMB 5,000/kg for europium oxide, RMB 2,260/kg for dysprosium oxide, RMB 203,000/mt for gadolinium oxide, RMB 47,000/mt for cerium misch metal, RMB 470,000/mt for praseodymium-neodymium alloy and RMB 226,000/mt for dysprosium-iron alloy.
