SHANGHAI, May 21 (SMM) –
New Entrance Requirements for Copper Industry to Guide Industrial Transformation
The Ministry of Industry & Information Technology released 2013 Entrance Requirements of Copper Industry (Draft for Comments) on May 16. SMM believes the new requirements encourage enterprises transformation.
In addition to the higher requirement for capacity, the new draft is more demanding in terms of self-sufficiency rate, energy consumption, and recovery rate, reflecting that the government lays greater stress on technologies for energy conservation and recycling instead of capacity. This is a positive signal that the government is paying more attention to tackle excess capacity.
