A 7-magnitude earthquake hit Sichuan’s Ya'an City on April 20.
SHANGHAI, Apr. 25 (SMM) – A 7-magnitude earthquake hit Sichuan’s Ya'an City on April 20. SMM’s survey on aluminum smelters and processors in Yaan found that the earthquake had little impact on the surveyed producers’ production and sales.

Chongqing Bosai Minerals’ Aba aluminum smelter, Sichuan Aostar Aluminum and Sichuan Qiya Aluminum were little affected by the earthquake. Alumina shipments from Guangxi, Guizhou and Chongqing to aluminum smelters in Sichuan are normal both by railway and roads.

Aluminum ingot traders in Chongqing informed SMM that they are now able to purchase aluminum ingot from Sichuan Aostar Aluminum and Sichuan Qiya Aluminum. Similarly, aluminum processors in Chongqing were also little impacted by the earthquake, who reported a slight growth in output in mid-to-late April.
