SHFE 1305 aluminum contract prices drifted lower after briefly hitting high, fuelling bearish sentiment.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 18 (SMM) – SHFE 1305 aluminum contract prices drifted lower after briefly hitting high, fuelling bearish sentiment. More aluminum ingot arrived at south China as tight railway transportation capacity eased during the Chinese New Year. However, most downstream producers will not resume production until after the Chinese Lantern Festival. Sluggish consumption sent spot aluminum mainstream traded prices down to RMB 14,870-14,890/mt. Overall trading was muted.
